My Diary - My Time in Pakistan

Every Day I Ban & Block Pakistani Men Online

I moved out of Pakistan months ago but still – even TODAY – I’ve had to ban and block 3 men on social media 😡

If you follow my channel, you know I LOVE Pakistan. Pakistan was my favourite adventure I’ve lived in decades. I have only good things to say about Pakistan. I always felt safer in Pakistan than in my home state of California. I always felt like a “sister” and never like I was being stared at in the wrong way, which any woman who has travelled to certain countries will understand what I mean.

I adore Pakistan.

What I don’t adore are the men who are a constant source of annoyance since Oct 2020. The moment I published my “Upcoming trip to Pakistan” vlog it’s like a proverbial flood gate opened. Not since living in India had I experienced anything similar. No man anywhere else I lived since India – China, Hong Kong, Malaysia or Indonesia – pestered me on a daily basis wanting to “connect” or “be friends” or “marry” or ask for my number.

With that vlog, it began. Just like India.

Every day for almost 15 months now! Today I had to ban 3 guys and I don’t even live there anymore.

Why do they do it?

Would they like random strange men messaging their wives, daughters, sisters or cousins complimenting them & asking to meet or speak?

I don’t think so. Yet they do it to me.

I’m sick of it. I had a beautiful experience & I’m still evangelising Pakistan, trying to change perceptions of how people view it. I even talked all about it on Malaysian radio last week for the first show of my new weekly travel segment. I LOVE PAKISTAN. BUT I DON’T LOVE BEING DM’’d and made to feel uncomfortable by strangers.

Mine is not an isolated experience. Almost every western friend I made in Pakistan has some awful tale. The worst was a friend who was stalked to her hotel making her feel unsafe by a man who desired her. Not her mind, because he didn’t know her but her appearance, which is sad.

MEN WHO DM: please stop. Think … would you want strange men doing this to the women in your life? No, you wouldn’t. More than that, you should be ashamed for giving a bad name to Pakistan.
